Focusing on educational approaches that prioritize student success |
I attended the SHEA conference and other appropriate and necessary PD to support best practices in instructional methods for a colony school. I will continue to network with the other Hutterian school teachers in GSSD and other school divisions. I will access GSSD consultants as needed throughout the year. I attended Early Literacy PD in August and September with Dr. George Georgiou. I will be attending the SHEA conference again this year in Saskatoon. I will continue to network and collaborate with other Hutterian school teachers within the school division as well as other schools throughout the province of Saskatchewan and Manitoba. I will access GSSD consultants as needed throughout the school year. |
I attended the SHEA conference in Saskatoon in October of 2023. I had the opportunity to attend sessions that pertain to teaching on a colony. I also had the opportunity to network with colony teachers from all over Saskatchewan, some I have known for many years and some were new to me. I spent time with several members of the Hutterian Brethren as well during the conference. I attended the SHEA conference in Saskatoon in October of 2024. I attended sessions about structured literacy like word work, phonemic awareness, morphology, and one about supporting a structured literacy classroom. |

Allocating resources to improve experiences for students, staff, and the community |
I will make sure that library books are appropriate and engaging for my students. Planning for guest speakers like Ag in the Classroom. I attended an event in Regina on September 27, 2024, called Turn the Page where I was able to pick free library books for the school library. |
I purchased more library books to keep students engaged and interested in reading. Connecting with the Hutterian community through parent-teacher interviews, Christmas concerts, BBQs, wiener roasts, Easter parties, Valentine's parties, weekly coffee with the families, Mother's Day activities, Father's Day activities, field's day, and more.

I continued to connect with my school community through many activities. We had parent-teacher interviews, a Christmas party, and activities, a Valentine's party, an Easter party, two wiener roasts, one bush pie party, Mother's Day activities, Father's Day activities, weekly coffee with school families, monthly coffee with other colony members, and more. Field's Day has been postponed to a later date due to weather. I am continuing to connect with my school community through activities during and after school. We had parent-teacher conferences, Christmas concert, Christmas party, A Valentine's party, an Easter party, two wiener roasts, Mother's Day activities, Father's Day activities, weekly coffee with school families, monthly coffee with other colony members, tours throughout the year with colony members, family members, Amanda Kornaga, and Quintin Robertson, Field's Day and more. |
