Improving student outcomes |
1. Middle Years Math Intervention Grade 7-CCT Support to begin immediately in September to support new math teacher, provide push in/pull out small group support. Math Screener-7,8 & 9 classes initiated GSSD Math Screener (early fall). CCT, Admin, & Math teachers will analyze the results and determine interventions. Math Up implementation in Grades 7-9 with quarterly support from GSSD Math Consultant, Jessica Smith. 2. High School Assessment High school teachers continue to link assessments to curriculum outcomes in Edsby gradebook.
Teachers will display outcomes in their classrooms and tag each outcome to each assessment. By January Teachers will unpack curricular outcomes in subject alike groups to determine the level of thinking required; appropriate product, observation, or conversation required; and determine the evidence the student activity will provide. Administrators provide a PD session on October 14, “Expanding our Use of Posting Outcomes” to assist teachers to deepen their understanding and offer multiple methods of involving students in co-construction, providing exemplars, and engaging prior knowledge. 3. Blended Learning Continue efforts to incorporate Blended Learning into middle years and high school classes. Professional goal of a Middle-years teacher to expand their knowledge and application of LanSchool Air, which is a program used to monitor whole-class Chromebook activities during blended learning classes. Teacher will share their learning with other blended learning classroom teachers. 4. Attendance The attendance team will regularly monitor student attendance data, and classroom teachers will refer students through the RTI process.
The ICW will engage with families of truant students through phone calls, home visits, and meetings to assist students in removing barriers to attendance. 5. Graduation Rates Grad coaches, with the assistance of Addison Dean, Library Tech, will create a credit-monitoring tool. Graduation coaches will monitor credit attainment data by updating the tool at regular intervals. Grad Coaches will use this data to identify students progress toward graduation. Special consideration will be given to students whose credits are ≤ 24 in Grade 12. Grade 12 students projected to earn exactly 24 credits will receive regular monitoring and intervention; students less projected to earn than 24 credits in Grade 12 will receive parent contact/meeting, regular monitoring and intervention, and co-construct a plan to graduate the following year.
Alternate credit attainment opportunities will be shared with students such as Apprenticeship, Special Project Credits, and Volunteerism.
All students in Grades 9-12 will create and maintain graduation plans in MyBlueprint. Grad Coach time was allocated to specifically support students and classroom teachers with MyBlueprint tasks. |
