Improving student outcomes |
Monitor students from K-Grade 4 who are considered "at risk" for attendance from previous school year and this year to create individual growth plans as needed.

Plan: Support parent's uneasiness about school by having an open door policy and allowing them to join their children at school from time to time; For example on Early Dismissal days invite parents to come from 12:45- 1:30 and join for activities such as PBL, buddy reading, guest readers, math games, share some skills, science inquiry, social studies research. -Monthly attendance meetings with Superintendent, Principal, School Counsellor and Indigenous Community Worker -Classroom teachers, Admin., Admin. Assistant and ICW contacting families through Seesaw, Edsby and by phone. Asking how we can support getting students to school. -Agreement with Keeseekoose and Cote First Nations to pay for hot lunches for students on Tuesday, Wednesdays and Fridays. -Create positive adult connectors for students deemed at risk for daily check-ins to help students feel comfortable and create a sense of belonging at school -Hold a winter clothing blitz -Admin. Victoria School will implement tools and resources to support Social Emotional Learning curriculum in the classrooms. |
PLC group in September 2025 will focus on SEL as a focus to gather resources and tools to support students at Victoria School. The SEL Team will be able to revisit our plan with division supports this year. Data from the Our School Data and Parent Survey will be used to create action plans to better support the mental health and well being of our students. Adding more daily music into classrooms and outside. |

Offering safe and inviting facilities |
Victoria School will offer inclusive environments for students to transition to the school day. |
-Students will be able to access breakfast daily from our nutrition worker and eat in the Cultural Room with the ICW. -Students requiring a soft landing in the morning and regulation breaks will be able to utilize the sensory room throughout the day. -Classrooms will use a soft landing approach to welcome students to classrooms each morning. -The grade 4 class will start their day with an in-motion walk. -The cultural room is a place for students to gather to learn Indigenous teachings and language from ICW and GSSD Cultural Consultant. -Grade 3 and 4 Boys will participate in drumming starting in November. -The kitchen renovation project will begin this fall to better support the nutrition needs of our students and provide a learning space for students. -New sign with mission statement was mounted in August 2025. -New Smart TV with announcements and student activity pictures was mounted in 2025. -Entrance has pictures showcasing families and students from Victoria School taken at our 2025 Back to School BBQ to create a sense of belonging and welcome. |

GSSD Board Policies will be reviewed at each regular board meeting. Updates and revisions will be tracked, and the newly revised policies will be communicated to the sector using the From the Board Report. Victoria School staff will review policies and procedures throughout the school year.

Focusing on educational approaches that prioritize student success |
All teachers Kindergarten to Grade 3 will continue to use the UFLI program daily to support literacy success in the areas of phonemic awareness and phonics. All teachers Kindergarten to Grade 4 will use research based instructional methods based on the Science of Reading to support literacy growth for students at Victoria School.
80% of students will meet grade level expectations in the area of number sense. |

Allocating resources to improve experiences for students, staff, and the community |
Victoria School will have technology devices to provide 1:1 access to students. We will purchase 5 new Ipads for student use this year. We are currently 1:1 for Chromebook devices and 2:1 for Ipad devices.

Fostering connections and supporting transitions |
Students will be greeted each morning inside and outside by designated supervisors to complete daily check ins.
