EYE: Kindergarten Assessment that supports transition to Grade 1. By June 30, 2024, 25% of Dr. Brass' Kindergarten students will be more ready for Grade 1 compared to the start of the 2023-2024 school year.
Reading: By June 30, 2024, 65% of Grades 1 to 8 will be reading at or above grade level.
Numeracy By June 30, 2024, 63% of Grades K-8 students will be at or above grade level in math.
Writing: By June 30, 2024, 52% of Grades K-8 students will be at or above grade level in Writing Assessments.

Reading Data: 64% Writing Data: 65% Numeracy Data: 65% EYE: Beginning year 20%, End of year 71%, increase of 51% Classroom Wish Tree – families were invited to share their hopes and wishes for their child not only in school but life. The hopes and dreams were wrote on a tag and added to the classroom wish tree for their student at our first family engagement. Family Engagement – Making Pumpkin Spice Playdough. Enhancing mental health and well-being for students and staff |
Anxiety: Anxiety Goal: By June 30, 2024 36% or fewer of students in Grade 4-6 will indicate on OurSchool Data Survey that they experience moderate to high levels of anxiety. 21% of students in Grades 7 & 8 will indicate that they experience moderate to high levels of anxiety on the OurSchool Data Survey. “Caught Being Positive” Print 100 tickets and divide them through-out the staff – staff hand out to students with a positive mindset/positive attitude/encouraging others. S – staff will distribute 100 tickets within a month M – count the number of tickets left at the end of each month to see what % were handed out A – 100 should be easy between all staff R – Resources – budget of 10$ per month, need the ‘red list’ as our slp group will keep extra eyes on these students to make sure they get a ticket, need printing of tickets, T – to start Nov 1 – announce at Oct assembly – Draw at assemblies

More than 50 students receive bagged lunch/hot lunch grant. Terrence Littletent hoop dancing project with all students Grade 1-8. Orange Shirt Day project- Lucy Dubois won t-shirt design contest. MMIW- Moose Hide Campaign- classes partcipated at Columbia School. Ribbon Skirt sewing and beading club with Melissa Fleury. Drumming group with Robert Severight. Daily smuding in the afternoon. -Eat and Educate night- connecting parents to EDSBY and troubleshoot anything that arises, importance of attendance. -Card to students who have been absent or the school has lost communication with them. |
Attendance: 85% for September, 81% for October Winning class went bowling on October 3 and students with perfect attendance are put in a draw to win a $15 gift card to Subway (thank you to Subway in York City Plaza for donating these). If students are absent and it is unexplained absence, caregivers will receive a phone call. If no contact has been made with the family, a home visit will be conducted. Students use the regulation room when needing a break or need to regulate during the school day. There is common language in the school regarding mental health that is being practiced by staff and students. Overall Attendance: 65% in the green for attendance |

Coffee house/Parent meeting By June 14th 2024, Dr. Brass school will support increasing family engagement by 5% from the previous year.
SLC - each year the school will host two Student Led Conferences. November 29 and 30, and March 20 and 21. Raider for a Day - Grade 8 students will be transitioning to the Yorkton Regional School. A to Z Meeting - meeting that support all learners with their outcomes. Meet the Class - During the end of the year, students will send 45 minutes with their "next year class and teacher". |
First Coffee chat was held on October 12th and was well attended (18 Families) and more signed up with Edsby and received troubleshooting support. The second coffee chat was held on December 14th. Approximately 27 individuals and families gathered for ornament making. Staff members helped with the ornaments and connected with families and youth. |

SCC - parent group that supports learning and play at our school. Student and Parent Surveys - use of surveys to assist our school in becoming even a more enjoyable place to learn and play. School Representative Council - students involved in making decisions at the school. Hosting activities, creating policies, and learning positive ways to use their voices. |
October 20, 2023 students gathered to create a school vandalism expectation guide for everyone at Dr. Brass School. January 17, 2024 - students created goals of being more respectful and keeping classrooms more clean. Students prepared for Telemiracle, Skiing, and Jump Rope for Heart. March 6, 2024 - students reviewed previously indentified goals and wanted to continue focusing on them. Student identified other spirit activities. May 1, 2024 - Students addressed Cell Phone Policy, Behaviour Expectations are visible and posted, Spirit Week, and June Activities (Hide + Seek, Disc Golf, and Mantracker), Attendance Celebration Water Wars, Survivor (May 22). School Safety reisitied. |
