Consistent weekly Wednesday morning staff meetings and afternoon RTI meetings that address concerns in a timely manner and improve student outcomes. eg. weekly monitoring of grades and attendance for successful credit attainment. Junior Homework Club is well utilized and senior mandatory study hall for any students not passing classes has successfully worked to have almost every student improve their marks to over 50%. (only one class not passed by one student despite all our efforts). We also ran mandatory noon study halls during the second semester as well along with credit rescue during finals. · The LEAP program is an assigned intervention for students who are struggling to achieve credits, and is also a space used for credit rescue toward the end of the semester. LEAP is also an additional support to students on Alternate and Functionally Integrated programs who enjoy spending a period with a variety of students from Grade 10 to 12 working on different courses at their own pace. · Teachers have focused on differentiating the ways they assess such as 'talk to text', conferencing to assess understanding of outcomes, more triangulation. Vice-principal participates in hockey academy to make connections with junior students. |
