The YCS team will participate in school wide RTI in periods 4 and 5 to respond to students needs and provide the interventions needed for improving student outcomes. |

Homeroom teachers will work with their RTI partner (Nesseth, Lake, Danylko, or Betge) to plan and implement meaningful RTI during their allocated time. |

School wide access to the homework room - students are able to receive additional support over the noon hour on assignments and tasks that are outstanding or require additional support. |

The child study team will be meeting more regularly (every day 2) to discuss students brought forward that require additional support and resources. The child study team aims to take a wrap around approach where we actively seek out and utilize as many supports as possible to improve outcomes for our students. |
Mr. Nesseth will share a report at the end of each term that summarizes the number of student cases discussed through our child study meetings. |
Nesseth, Lake, Danylko, Betge, Seeley + Classroom teachers can make referrals and attend meetings for their students. This allowed our team to focus on needs of all students throughout the year, both academic and personal. |

Adoption of UFLI Instruction and Intervention - grade 1,2, and 4 teams will attend professional development to learn about the UFLI program. Our grade 1 and 2 teams will implement UFLI as tier 1 instruction and our grade 4 and SST team will adopt as an intervention program for students needing additional literacy support beyond tier 1 classroom instruction. |

Implementing the "Inspiring Success" Policy |
YCS Reconciliation Gardens - this project is to take place throughout the year under consultation of knowledge keepers, elders, local agrologist, community partners and our GSSD Indigenous student success consultant. Construction will occur in the Yorkdale Courtyard to create a variety of garden boxes where we will grow both Western Crops, and traditional Indigenous plants and medicines. Throughout the year we will invite community partners in to teach and participate in the care and learning to take place in the garden in hopes of paving a pathway forward to reconciliation in the area of agriculture and indigenous ways of knowing. |

Implementing the "Inspiring Success" Policy |
YCS Drum Group - YCS will be starting a drum group for our students to participate in throughout the year. The group will begin by creating their own drum and learning about the teachings associated with that. They will then meet on a regular basis to learn and drum with Mr. Severight. Our Drum received its name - “Singing Stone Drum”. Our boys practiced well and built a strong bond. Our school was very proud to have our Drummers perform on Singing Stone Drum at the year end Grade 5 to 8 assembly. They played the Honour Song to celebrate student success and accomplishments. |

Mentorship - The YCS Mentorship program matches senior students with younger students to build relationships and make connections with students who could benefit from being matched. This provides an opportunity for senior students to demonstrate leadership both in the school, and in the lives of the student they are matched with. |

YCS maintains a commitment to providing chromebooks to grade 5-8 classrooms on a 1:1 basis and sufficient ipads to our primary classrooms. |
Technology deployment has been taken over at the divisional level. We are currently at a 1:1 ratio for 5-8 and have sufficient ipads in the younger grades to support their learning in small groups. The division is continuously replacing devices each year to ensure they are not outdated and not working. |

The GSSD Yorkton and Area Band Program will incorporate Indigenous content into the list of chosen repertoire. The goal is to focus on incorporating authentic Indigenous concert band music into the classroom, as well as exploring avenues to contribute to expanding the repertoire, and particularly access to music from Indigenous nations from Treaty 4 territory. |

YCS staff participated in professional development around being "trauma informed". YCS staff will be mindful of this PD throughout the year in all interactions with students in and out of the classroom. We understand that the way we approach students in a trauma informed manner has a big impact on the success of our YCS royals. We will be revisiting this concept at each staff meeting and working towards creating actionable goals to make Yorkdale Central School a more Trauma Sensitive Space. |

The Royal Code - YCS is committed using the Royal Code as a school wide behaviour plan. The Royal Code guides students and staff in creating a safe, respectful and positive environment. When students act in a manner that is unsafe or harms others socially, emotionally, or physically, staff will address in a timely manner using the Royal Code as our benchmark for desired behaviour. Admin will be actively involved in student discipline on an ongoing basis. |

Kokum's in the Kitchen - YCS will be organizing and hosting this event again this year. The aim and goal is to create space for our Indigenous families to feel included and safe within our building and providing opportunity for our whole school community to learn from and celebrate with our Indigenous community.
